Following yesterday’s Express Entry draw which allowed candidates with provincial nomination to receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs), today Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another Express Entry draw to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. Invitations were issued to a total of 3,300 candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 454. The previous draw held for CEC candidates was on July 23 with CRS score cut-off of 445.
The CEC is a permanent residence category for people with skilled work experience in Canada. It was developed for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with qualifying Canadian work experience. Self-employment and work experience gained while a full-time student (even on a co-op work term) do not count towards the minimum requirements for this program.
As an example, this program is a possible pathway for international students in that after completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution, many international graduates are able to remain in Canada on Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Once a graduate obtains at least one year of work in a skilled, professional or technical field, they may then become eligible to apply under the Canadian Experience Class through Express Entry.
